About

A Free and Open Virtual Synagogue

I will lead you on a new path which no man has ever traveled before. It is really a very old path, and yet it is completely new.

Rebbe Nachman of Breslov

The Baal Shem Tov walked the highways and byways of the Carpathian Mountains to find Jews who felt disaffected and distant, and show them the way back to the faith of their fathers. Today, we continue his mission by traveling the highways and byways of the Internet, to bring our fellow Jews back to that same simple faith.

Rabbi Aryel Nachman

Are you unable to attend services at the synagogue because you are:

Home-bound, in a long or short term care facility, hospitalized, or in a work situation that requires you to work on the Sabbath or Festivals?

Or, are you not attending the synagogue because:

There is no synagogue near you, you can’t afford the dues and fees, you feel distant, you feel disconnected, or you had a negative experience that keeps you from going back?

Do you miss being a part of the Jewish community?

Far too many of our elders are no longer able to attend regular services, and are simply left to their own. This is a shandeh! It is time our elders are treated with the respect that our faith demands. Our Torah demands this as does out Talmud.

Or, are you one who is disconnected from the Jewish community because of differences in ideology; maybe you just got sick of shul politics, or left for any number of reasons.

Maybe you are one of those who have not been active in a Jewish community for a very long time, or ever. You probably want to be connected, but there is always that reluctance to walk into the synagogue and feel like everyone is looking at you: You are not familiar with the services, you don’t know the Hebrew, and all of a sudden, you feel like an outsider among your own people!

Now you can reconnect with a real Jewish community!

At the House of Seven Beggars Synagogue, you can be part of a community where you can attend services, attend study sessions, or just shmooz with other members! From home!

The Seven Beggars Synagogue may be just what you’ve been waiting for!

The House of Seven Beggars Synagogue is an open virtual Jewish community that offers you the opportunity to attend services, study Torah and other texts, or just be a part of a thriving Jewish community.

There are no dues or fees. We don’t sell seats. We just want every Jew who wants to be connected to have the opportunity to belong. This is the right of every Jew.

You are free to come and go as you please. There is absolutely no pressure to join the synagogue. You can be involved as much, or as little, as you have time and are comfortable.

Our services and study sessions are broadcast live each week. The services and study sessions are also archived for later viewing; when it is convenient or at the proper time in your area for the services. We have members all over the world and we would love to have you as part of our growing community.

Come to one of our services and see for yourself.

Attend one of our services or watch one of the archived videos. Make up your own mind as to whether this is for you, or not. You are welcome anytime.

The Synagogue was named after the story by Rabbi Nachmann of Breslov, which you can read here.
